The Nebraska State Patrol conducted Tobacco Compliance Checks within the nine counties of the North Central District of Nebraska. Of the 80 tobacco retailers who were visited, 71 were in compliance with Nebraska Tobacco Laws. Thus, the non-compliance rate in the nine counties is 11.25%. The State of Nebraska mandates that retailers can only sell tobacco products to individuals 18 years old and older. The North Central District Health Department would like to remind our tobacco retailers of this law, and encourage compliance to reduce the non-compliance rate within our nine counties.
