VetSET Nebraska Veteran Services connects veterans, service members, and their families with needed resources in their communities.
The North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) is working with the local communities in rural Nebraska to build partnerships that will help identify where the needs are for our veterans, service members, and their families.  We are partnering with groups and programs already established locally to bring all the resources together on the Network of Care website.  Part of our goal is to help educate and increase the military culture in our communities and better prepare our community-based providers to serve our veterans, service members, and families. We are assisting our service members returning home so they are successful as they reintegrate back into their families and communities.
  • Nebraska is 1 of 5 states awarded this pilot program from the Office of Rural Health through the Nebraska Association of Local Health Directors (NALHD)
  • Nebraska was chosen to support the focus on rural and underserved areas
  • Nationwide RAND studies showed increasing numbers of Major Depressive Disorder, increasing suicide rates, and increasing numbers of homelessness, poor school performance of children whose parent(s) are deployed, or child behavioral issues arising
Let the local health departments help your loved ones bridge the gap to barriers and make it easier to point you in the right direction!
